About the Event
Basic guidelines for drawing and painting portraits and figures with pastels will be presented in these classes. Photos will be provided for the first month of classes to cover the basics of drawing the head and figure with a limited color palette. In the second month, Alan will show how to do a full color half length portrait with pastels. Students may then work from their own photos and in oils if they prefer for the full color portrait.
Classes will be held in the spacious new studio/classroom of Abbey Art Works on the Saint Joseph Abbey campus in Covington, Louisiana. The studio is in a renovated rustic farm building with high ceiling and excellent lighting.
